spillage

disgust is spawned by many sources / among them the violation of a barrier / inside made out / pus out of skin / a prolapsed rectum / a compound fracture / and so perhaps it is why I felt disgust / while driving down Sunset Boulevard / that in my field of vision a transient man / shoved a person-sized planter over onto the sidewalk / motivated by what I do not know / its insides spilled out onto the pavement / amongst the shatter / the roots like intestines / suddenly sprawled, distended / scattered / uncontained / ruptured / I did not know how to respond to this thing of beauty suddenly and senselessly made waste / and yet that is how some might view him / a soul undone and beyond salvation
